Make Your Own Vocabulary Cards
Paste targets such as science terms, book vocabulary or classroom objects. Add two to five obvious clue words that players must avoid. Review the deck and edit clues so they fit your learners. Built-in cards are original general and classroom vocabulary; custom cards need your own age and lesson suitability review.
How to Play a Forbidden-Words Game
One player sees the target and forbidden clues and describes the target without saying either. Their team guesses aloud. Agree beforehand whether word forms and parts of words are also banned. Use paper cards or pass the device to the clue-giver before revealing. The draw session uses each card once, then stops until restarted.
Printable Taboo-Style Cards for Classroom Review
Select US Letter or A4 and print after checking every target and clue. Cut along the dashed guides. Keep your vocabulary-only deck separate from the built-in collection unless you explicitly choose to combine them. Adding more forbidden words raises the challenge without requiring a new vocabulary list.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make custom Taboo-style vocabulary cards?
Yes. Choose My vocabulary only and paste one target per line. Add clues after a vertical bar, separated by commas, or fill them in using the card editor. This is an independent describing-game tool, not an official Taboo product.
Can I print the cards?
Yes. Complete all clues, check the preview, and select Letter or A4. Print cut-out cards with dashed guides or use your browser's Save as PDF option.
How many forbidden words can I use?
Choose two, three, four or five per card. Fewer clues generally make the game easier. Every clue must be non-empty, unique within its card, and different from the target.
Are vocabulary lists saved?
No. Cards stay in tab memory and disappear on reload. Copy your deck to keep it. Custom vocabulary is not sent to analytics or stored in share URLs.
